Fitbit, furniture and farewell Toys ‘R’ Us
For the majority of top 10 advertisers in PLAs, the keyword ‘fitbit’ was a major driver of clicks. While not necessarily top-of-mind as sellers of wearable fitness devices, Nordstrom, Etsy and Groupon all made the top ranking largely based on how well they performed on fitbit keywords.
That was not the case for Home Depot, of course, which earned its 8th ranking and 3 percent click share in text ads by performing well on household furniture keywords such as ‘patio furniture’, ‘dishwasher’ and ‘bar stools’, among other terms.
Finally, Holiday 2017 likely marked the final appearance of iconic brand Toys ‘R’ Us among the top 10 search advertisers, at least for the foreseeable future.
